Why We Love It

Here are some of the reasons why we love Motherwort...

1) CALMING TO THE HEART  - Motherwort has historically been used to strengthen the heart, lower blood pressure and calm heart palpitations.

2) SOOTHING - Motherwort is very soothing and is very nourishing during times of grief and change.  It's an amazing herb for women.

3) HELPS WITH SETTING BOUNDARIES - Energetically, this herb helps you to set boundaries and be able to say no.

PRO TIP

Motherwort is beautiful, but has some sharp spines, so wear gloves when harvesting.

Plant in Fall or Spring.  Sprinkle the seed in prepared soil and barely cover.  Tamp well and keep moist until it germinates in 7-21 days.

Winter Sowing is the easiest way to start these seeds. Here's a seed-starting tutorial for you. You won't believe how easy it is!

*Motherwort is a uterine stimulant, so it's important not to use it during pregnancy.

How to Harvest & Use It

Motherwort is best harvested when in full bloom.  All above-ground parts are usable.  It can be used as a tea or a tincture.  Here's a great video about the benefits of Motherwort and how to make an easy tincture from this beautiful plant.
